SYMPTOMS

When you print your Microsoft PowerPoint presentation, the tables may appear distorted or the tables may appear vertically stretched.

CAUSE

This behavior occurs when the following conditions are true:

You have the Print inserted objects at printer resolution check box selected when you print your presentation.

-and-
The PowerPoint presentation contains a table in an embedded Microsoft Word document object.

WORKAROUND

To work around this behavior, click to clear the Print inserted objects at printer resolution check box. To do so, follow these steps:

Start Microsoft PowerPoint, and then open your presentation.
On the Tools menu, click Options.
On the Print tab, click to clear the Print inserted objects at printer resolution check box, and then click OK.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article. This problem was first corrected in Office XP Service Pack 3.
