You cannot send e-mail messages from Word, PowerPoint, and Excel

SYMPTOMS

When you use Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, or Microsoft Excel, the Send To command may not appear on the File menu. Additionally, Visual Basic for Applications macro code that uses the SendMail method may not work.

CAUSE

Your e-mail program does not use Messaging Application Programming Interface (MAPI).

RESOLUTION

To send e-mail from a Microsoft Office program, you must have an e-mail program that supports MAPI. Examples of MAPI-compliant e-mail programs are Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Outlook Express. Additionally, there are third-party e-mail programs.
