WD2000: The Date That You Type in the "Text Form" Box Changes to a Different Date After You Press the Tab Key in the Japanese Version of Word 2000

SYMPTOMS

When you type a date in the Text form box in the Japanese version of Word 2000, and then press the TAB key, the date in the Text form box changes to an unexpected date.

For example, when you type April 10, 2003 in the Text form box, and then press the TAB key, the date changes to "October 1, 2003" (without quotation marks).

CAUSE

This problem may occur when you configure the Text form box to use the following date format:

MMMM d, yyyy

RESOLUTION

A supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem.

The Japanese version of this fix has the file attributes (or later) that are listed in the following table. The dates and times for these files are listed in coordinated universal time (UTC). When you view the file information, it is converted to local time. To find the difference between UTC and local time, use the Time Zone tab in the Date and Time tool in Control Panel.
