SYMPTOMS

When you use a swipe card reader or a keyboard on a Windows 2000-based computer, characters may be dropped or lost in Notepad. This issue may occur if all the following conditions are true:
  • You have established an Independent Computing Architecture (ICA) connection to a MetaFrame server.
  • The time interval between swipes (scans) or keystrokes is very short.
  • The codes that you scan or type are exactly the same, or repeated.

RESOLUTION

Hotfix Information

A supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem.
