SUMMARY

This article describes how to change the placement of your notes in Microsoft Office OneNote 2007 and in Microsoft Office OneNote 2003.

Some important things to remember:
  • The tabs across the top of the page represent the sections and folders that are currently open.
  • The tabs along the side of the page represent pages in each section of your notebook.

Move the Contents of a Page

To rearrange the contents of a page, do either of the following:
  • To move your notes on the page, click the top edge of a note container, and then drag the container.

Note A container is the gray-shaded area where your text is typed.
  • To move a paragraph, move the pointer over the paragraph handle until the pointer becomes a four-headed arrow, and then drag the handle.

Move a Page in a Section

To change the order of the pages in a section, follow these steps:
  1. Click a page tab, and then drag it sideways until a small triangle appears. The triangle indicates the location of the page.

Note To select more than one page, press and hold down CTRL or SHIFT while you click page tabs.
  2. Drag up or down until the triangle indicator is at the location that you want, and then release the mouse button.

Move a Page to Another Section

To move a page to another section, follow these steps:
  1. Right-click the page tab for the page that you want to move.

Note To select more than one page, press and hold down CTRL or SHIFT while you click page tabs.
  2. Point to Move Page To, and then click Another Section.
  3. In the Move or Copy Pages dialog box, click the section or the folder where you want to move the page.

Note If you have to create a section or a folder when you move the page, click Create New Section or Create New Folder.

Move a Section in a Notebook

To move a section in a notebook, follow these steps:
  1. Right-click the section tab that you want to move, and then click Move.
  2. In the Move Section To dialog box, click a section or folder. When you click Move, the section tab that you selected in step 1moves below the selected section or folder.

To move a folder tab to a different tab position in your Notebook, follow these steps:
  1. Right-click the folder tab that you want to move, and then click Move.
  2. In the Move Section To dialog box, click a section or a folder. When you click Move, the folder tab that you selected in step 1 moves below the selected section or folder.

Delete a Folder tab in a Notebook
