When you view the status of this device, you receive the following message:
This device is not working properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device. (Code 31). CAUSEThis problem occurs during Windows 2000 startup. If the USB 2.0 driver is not loaded before the other processes in Windows 2000 are started, the required resources are locked and cannot be used to load the USB 2.0 driver in Device Manager. RESOLUTIONHotfix InformationA supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem.If the hotfix is available for download, there is a "Hotfix download available" section at the top of this Knowledge Base article. If this section does not appear, submit a request to Microsoft Customer Service and Support to obtain the hotfix.
