The Office Shortcut Bar is not available in Microsoft Office 2007 or Microsoft Office 2003. However, you can use the
Start menu in Microsoft Windows XP to start an Office program or to open a file or a folder. Additionally, you can use the Quick Launch bar in Windows XP or in Microsoft Windows 2000 to start an Office program or to open a file or a folder.

Add an Office Program to the Start Menu
To add an Office program to the
Start menu, follow these steps:
| 1. | Click Start, point to All Programs, and then point to Microsoft Office. |
| 2. | Right-click the Office program that you want to add to the Start menu, and then click Pin to Start menu.

Repeat these steps for additional programs that you want to add to the
Start menu.
Notes| • | To remove a program from the pinned items, right-click the program, and then click Unpin on the Start menu. |
| • | To change the order of the programs on the pinned items list, drag a program to a new position.

Add a File or a Folder to the Start Menu
In
My Computer or in Windows Explorer, click the file or the folder that you want to add, and then drag it to the
Start menu.

Show the Quick Launch Bar
To show the Quick Launch bar, use one of the following methods, as appropriate for your operating system.
Windows XP
Method 1| 1. | Right-click the taskbar, and then click Properties. |
| 2. | On the Taskbar tab, click to select the Show Quick Launch check box, and then click Apply. |
Method 2Right-click an empty area on the taskbar, click
Toolbars, and then click
Quick Launch.
Note If you right-click an empty area on the taskbar and do not see the
Toolbars option, click to clear the
Lock the Taskbar check box.
Windows 2000
Right-click an empty area on the taskbar, click
Toolbars, and then click
Quick Launch.
Notes| • | To resize the Quick Launch bar or to move it to another location on the taskbar, point to the vertical bar on the left side of the toolbar, and then drag it to the left or to the right. |
| • | To create a floating toolbar, drag the toolbar from the taskbar to the desktop. |

Add an Office Program to the Quick Launch Bar
In
My Computer or in Windows Explorer, click the icon for the program that you want to add, and then drag it to the Quick Launch area on the taskbar. The Quick Launch area on the taskbar is located next to the
Start button.

Add an Office Toolbar to the Taskbar
To add an Office toolbar to the taskbar, follow these steps:
| 1. | Right-click an empty area on the taskbar. |
| 2. | Point to Toolbars, and then click New Toolbar. |
| 3. | In the New Toolbar dialog box, locate the C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs folder, click the Microsoft Office folder, and then click OK. |

Use Earlier Version of Office with Office 2007 or Office 2003
Office 2007 and Office 2003 can coexist with an earlier version of Office. With two versions of Office, you can use the Office Shortcut Bar with Office 2007 and Office 2003. To use the Office Shortcut Bar with Office 2007 and Office 2003, follow these steps:
| 1. | Right-click an empty area on the Office Shortcut Bar, and then click Customize. |
| 2. | Click the Buttons tab, and then click the Add File button. |
| 3. | In the Add File dialog box, locate the Office11 folder, and double-click the Office program that you want to add to the Office Shortcut Bar. |
| 4. | Repeat steps 2 through 3 until you have added all the Office programs that you want to add to the Office Shortcut Bar, and then click OK. |
