SYMPTOMS

When you receive an iCalendar Format (*.ics) file in Microsoft Outlook 2000 that was created in Microsoft Outlook 2002 or later and you double-click the file to open an appointment, the appointment file may not open.

CAUSE

This problem may occur if the iCalendar Format (*.ics) appointment file has a reminder set in the appointment file.

RESOLUTION

How to Obtain the Hotfix

This issue is fixed in the Outlook 2000 Post-Service Pack 3 Hotfix Package July 3, 2003. For additional information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:
