You Are Unexpectedly Prompted for Your User Name and Password When You Open a Visio Drawing on a SharePoint Team Services Web Site

SYMPTOMS

When you open a Visio 2002 drawing in the Document Library of a Microsoft SharePoint Team Services Web site, you are unexpectedly prompted to enter your user name and password after you click Open in the File Download dialog box. You are prompted to enter your logon credentials in the Connect to ServerName dialog box although you have the appropriate permissions to open and view the file.

When you click Cancel on the Connect to ServerName dialog box, the dialog box reappears. You can open the file after you click Cancel approximately six times in the Connect to ServerName dialog box.

CAUSE

This problem occurs if the drawing was created by using Visio 2002 Service Release-1 (SR-1).
