Article ID: 823827 - Last Review: October 26, 2006 - Revision: 2.5 Your laptop does not wake from the suspend state when you open the lid
On This PageSYMPTOMSWhen you use a Microsoft Windows 2000-based IBM ThinkPad T30 or IBM ThinkPad T40 laptop, when you open the lid, the computer may not wake from the suspend state. The power light-emitting diode (LED)
may not blink even when the lid is open. You can still use the Function (Fn)
key to wake the computer successfully. CAUSEThis problem occurs because of a synchronization issue in the
Windows 2000 operation region access handler when two Peripheral Component Interconnect (PCI) operation region accesses occur at the same time.
When an operation
region handler is called, it transfers bytes in the operation region to and from the
Advanced Configuration and Power Interface (ACPI) driver's data buffer. The ACPI driver manages the accessing of the correct
bytes to read and to write a data field in an operation region. RESOLUTIONHotfix informationA supported hotfix is available from Microsoft.
