Article ID: 824334 - Last Review: July 24, 2007 - Revision: 5.11 Branch Office Mode May Not Result in Balanced Connections
On This PageSYMPTOMSIf you run a Windows Server 2003-based domain in Knowledge Consistency Checker (KCC) Redundant mode (also known as Branch Office mode), the connections might not be distributed evenly across the available bridgehead servers. CAUSEThe first connection is created using the built-in KCC logic. The second connection object is created by using random selection logic that is not optimal. The new path can cause the selection of the second connection object to be unbalanced. RESOLUTIONHotfix InformationA supported hotfix is available from Microsoft.
