SYMPTOMS

If a multi-byte character set (MBCS) string is set in an HTTP Cookie Header field, a Common Gateway Interface (CGI) program may not work correctly because the CGI cannot receive all the environment strings.

RESOLUTION

Hotfix Information

A supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix might receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, we recommend that you wait for the next software update that contains this hotfix.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, follow these steps:
1.In Control Panel, open Regional and Language Options.
2.Click the Advanced tab.
3.In the Select a language to match the language version of the non-Unicode programs you want to use list, click English (United States).
