Article ID: 824597 - Last Review: November 15, 2007 - Revision: 2.2 Absolute URL Is Returned When You Use the Channel.Url Method of the PAPI and Host Headers Are Enabled
SYMPTOMSWhen host headers are enabled, requests that another host
header name
makes of the Microsoft Content Management Server (MCMS) computer are
represented incorrectly in links that the server generates. The server displays
the host header name that is specified in MCMS instead of the host header name that
the originating request specifies. CAUSEWhen you use the Map Channel Names to Host Header Names feature, MCMS uses the host header names
that are specified by the first level of channels to represent the host
header name.
When you use the MCMS Publishing Application Programming Interface (PAPI) and a third-party URL manipulation ISAPI filter, any
requests for the URL appear with the channel name (instead of the host header name that
is specified in the originating URL) as the host header name. RESOLUTIONHotfix InformationA supported hotfix is available from Microsoft.
