On This PageSYMPTOMSIf you add the Welcome string value to the following registry key on a computer that is running Windows Server 2003 and then set the value to %ComputerName%, the computer name is not displayed on the title bar of the Log On to Windows dialog box: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\Currentversion\Winlogon CAUSEThis problem occurs if the Welcome string value is incorrectly processed by the Msgina.dll component. RESOLUTIONHotfix InformationA supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix might receive additional testing.
