Article ID: 826239 - Last Review: October 26, 2006 - Revision: 2.5 Small Delay in Logon to Network When You Use a Wireless Network Connection
On This PageSYMPTOMSWhen you log on to your Windows XP-based computer, you may experience a small logon delay when you use a wireless connection to your network. Note The delay does not occur when you log on to your computer that is directly wired to your network. CAUSEAfter Windows authenticates your credentials, the network service requests an IP address renewal. If the network service does not receive all the encryption keys quickly enough, it may renew the address request. The renewed address request causes a small delay. RESOLUTIONService pack informationTo resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Microsoft Windows XP.
