to a group, an Object Picker dialog box may display the message "Account unknown." You may also receive the following error

S-1-5-21-1482476501-688789844-725345543-512 LookupAccountSid failed, LastError = 1789 CAUSEThis problem occurs because Windows cannot resolve security identifiers (SIDs) to names. An SID is a numeric value that identifies a
user or group. For each access control entry (ACE), an SID identifies the user or the group for whom access is permitted, denied, or audited. RESOLUTIONHotfix InformationA supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem.If the hotfix is available for download, there is a "Hotfix download available" section at the top of this Knowledge Base article.
