SYMPTOMS

When you upgrade to Microsoft Office Outlook 2003 from Microsoft Outlook 2000 Service Release 1 (SR-1), and then run the Personal Folders Backup tool, you may receive the following error message:

Could not load backappl.exe Backup Failed!

CAUSE

This problem occurs because you cannot use the Personal Folders Backup tool that is included with Outlook 2000 SR-1 in Outlook 2003.

To resolve this problem, upgrade to the Outlook 2003 version of the Personal Folders Backup tool. To upgrade to the new version of the Personal Folders Backup tool, visit the following Microsoft Web site:
