SYMPTOMS

When you copy and paste text that contains a hyperlink to a Microsoft Office OneNote 2003 page, the hyperlink may be lost when you paste the text. For example, if the words Click Here appear on the screen and are associated with a Web site, the text Click Here is brought over, but the associated link to the Web site is not. The same symptom occurs with a graphic that contains a link to a Web site.

CAUSE

This problem occurs because OneNote 2003 does not retain the underlying hyperlinks that are pasted from other programs. For example, the words Click Here appear on the screen and are associated with a Web site. In this example, the Web site link is the underlying hyperlink.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, type the hyperlink next to the text where the hyperlink was located in the original text. For example, type:
http://www.microsoft.com

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, obtain Microsoft Office OneNote 2003 Service Pack 1 (SP1).
