When you install and start Microsoft Office Excel 2003, custom toolbars from earlier versions of Excel do not appear. Excel 2003 displays the default toolbar configuration.

If you upgrade to Excel 2003, custom toolbars and settings that were created in previous versions are not migrated. Additionally, custom toolbars that are created in Excel 2003 are only accessible in Excel 2003.

Excel 2003 custom toolbar settings are stored in the Excel11.xlb file. In Excel 2002, custom toolbars are stored in a different file, the Excel10.xlb file.

If you install Microsoft Excel 2003 to the default location, the Excel11.xlb file is stored in the following folder, where drive is the letter of the drive where Windows is installed and User name is the name that you use to log on to Windows: For more information about custom toolbars, click Microsoft Excel Help on the Help menu, type custom toolbar in the Office Assistant or the Answer Wizard, and then click Search to view the topics returned.
