Right-click problems and annotation problems with Sensiva Symbol Commander in Office 2003 programs

SYMPTOMS

When you use the Microsoft Office products that are listed in the “Applies to” section of this article, you may notice any of the following symptoms:
  • When you right-click, a shortcut menu may not appear.
  • When you right-click a smart tag, the tag disappears.
  • You cannot right-click a shortcut menu.
  • When you use an Input Method Editor (IME), you cannot pick the conversion alternative from the IME list of candidates by right-clicking the alternative.
  • When you draw annotations or drawings, Sensiva Symbol Commander starts.

CAUSE

This behavior may occur when you have Sensiva Symbol Commander installed and running.

WORKAROUND

To work around this behavior, use any of the following methods:
  • Left-click when you select smart tags, items in shortcut menus, and conversion alternatives in the IME.
  • Right-click the Symbol Commander icon in the taskbar to temporarily disable Symbol Commander.
  • Remove Symbol Commander.
