Symptoms

The Scepol.log file size increases beyond its default 1 megabyte (MB) limit. You cannot stop this behavior by setting the
PolicyDebugLevel
registry value to 0. As the file becomes larger and more fragmented, the system runs more slowly than expected.

Resolution

Hotfix information

A supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem.
