You cannot rotate linked images in a document in Word 2003.

This problem may occur if your image or images are linked.

To resolve this problem, you must first unlink the image before you rotate the image in Microsoft Office 2003. To unlink the image, follow these steps:

1. Click the linked image that you want to unlink.
2. Press CTRL+SHIFT+F9.
