SYMPTOMS

When you create a presentation in Microsoft Office PowerPoint 2003, some of the hyperlinks may not work as expected. You may also notice that when you package a large, complex presentation, some internal slide links may change or disappear.

CAUSE

This behavior may occur with presentations that contain many hyperlinks that link internally to other slides, slide titles, or to a custom show.

The document summary storage that contains all the document properties, custom properties, references, and other similar data, may have exceeded its design limits.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, you may have to create smaller presentations and link the smaller presentations together in a master presentation. Use external links wherever possible.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
