SYMPTOMS

When you insert and format a form field with a style, and then protect the document, the text is formatted with the incorrect font.

CAUSE

This issue occurs when there is a Unicode font such as MS Mincho or Cambria Math installed on the computer. This kind of font can be installed when one or more of the following conditions are true:
  • A 2007 Microsoft Office suite is installed (Cambria Math).
  • The Microsoft Office 2003 International Support Feature is installed (MS Mincho).
  • East Asian language support is added in the regional and language options in Control Panel.

WORKAROUND

To work around this issue, you must apply the style before you insert the form field. To do this, follow these steps:
  1. Select the paragraph where you will insert the form field.
  2. Format the paragraph with the style that you want.
  3. Insert the form field in the paragraph.

APPLIES TO
  • Microsoft Office Word 2007
  • Microsoft Office Word 2003
