File size increases after you repaginate a document that contains tables in Word 2003

When you press CTRL+END and then press CTRL+HOME to repaginate a document that contains tables in Microsoft Office Word 2003, the file size may increase substantially when you save the document.

Document file sizes may be larger in Microsoft Word 2002 or Word 2003 than in Microsoft Word 2000 or earlier. Updates were made to Word 2003 that improve performance and backward compatibility. The file size of the document is also increased.

This behavior is by design.
