SYMPTOMS

A Microsoft Windows 2000 Server-based server that runs Microsoft Systems Management Server (SMS) 2.0 may appear to stop responding or "hang" intermittently. Simple TCP/IP functions from the server may work (for example, you can use the PING utility to retrieve the NetBIOS name), but you may not be able to access shares or network services on the server.
