Merged fields are truncated to 255 characters in a Publisher 2007 or Publisher 2003 publication

When you merge fields in a Microsoft Office Publisher 2007 or Microsoft Office Publisher 2003 publication, and then preview the merged data, the fields are truncated to 255 characters.

This issue occurs because each field in a Publisher 2007 or Publisher 2003 publication is limited to 255 characters.

To work around this issue, split the data into multiple fields to display more than 255 characters. For example, when you have more than 255 characters in the Description field, you can split the Description field into two fields, Description1 and Description2.
