SYMPTOMS

A crash of the Microsoft Distributed Transaction Service (MSDTC) service process can cause the Microsoft COM+ Queued Component (QC) Listener to lose QC messages.

CAUSE

Even if a COM+ QC must be executed in a transaction because the COM+ Transaction property is set to required or to required new, the QC Listener reads QC messages in a non-transactional way when it cannot read the messages in a transactional way.
