If you specify a verbose log file for the setup, the following error message may be logged in the installation log: Starting custom action InstallSQLAgentSecurity
InstallSQLAgentSecurity failed (MyComputerName,LocalSystem,87). Action ended 11:26:02: InstallFinalize. Return value 3. WORKAROUNDTo work around this problem, enable the Server service on the computer where you want to install MSDE 2000. To enable the Server service, you must first install File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks.
