A Visio 2003 solution is a combination of Visio shapes and
programs that model the real world and solve drawing problems. A Visio solution
typically includes shapes that you can drag onto the drawing page to quickly
create a drawing; templates for new drawings that predefine the drawing size
and drawing scale; and programs that help create the drawing, analyze the
drawing, or transfer information between the drawing and external data
sources.

To help you create solutions, the Visio development
environment provides the following:
| • | The ShapeSheet spreadsheet. With this spreadsheet you can
create formulas for specific shape appearance and behavior. To view the
ShapeSheet, open your Visio drawing (based on a Drawing Type), on the
Window menu, click Show
ShapeSheet. |
| • | Microsoft Visual Basic for Applications (VBA). With VBA you
can create macros and control Visio by using Automation. To create a VBA macro,
open your Visio drawing, and then do one of the following:
| • | On the Tools menu, point to
Macros, and then click
Macros.
-or- | | • | Press ALT+F11 to open the Microsoft Visual Basic
Editor. |
|
| • | The Visio type library. This describes the objects,
properties, methods, events, constants, and interfaces that Visio exposes to
Automation clients. To view the Visio Type Library, open the
Visual Basic Editor in Visio, and then click Object Browser on
the View menu. |
