SUMMARY

This article describes the Microsoft Office XP issue that is fixed in the Office XP Spanish Post-Service Pack 2 hotfix package that is dated November 3, 2003.

Issues that are fixed in the hotfix package

The following issue is fixed in this hotfix package but was not previously documented in a Microsoft Knowledge Base article:

When you open a Microsoft Word X for Mac or a Microsoft PowerPoint X for Mac document in Microsoft Windows, a red X may appear instead of a Microsoft Excel Chart. This problem may occur when you paste a Microsoft Excel X for Mac Chart that contains only a Y-axis label and the chart is pasted into either Word X for Mac or PowerPoint X for Mac.

OFFXP: Office XP Updates and Patches Released After September 2002 May Require Windows Installer 2.0
The full-file version of this hotfix is also the administrative version of this hotfix. You can install this version of the hotfix with Office XP Service Pack 1 (SP-1). However, Microsoft has not tested this fix on Office XP SP-1 to the same extent as on Office XP Service Pack 2 (SP-2). If you install this hotfix on a computer with Office XP SP-1 installed, some file conflicts might occur. Microsoft supports this configuration, but Microsoft does not recommend this configuration.
