Stationery is not applied to a new page or to a new subpage in OneNote 2003

When you apply stationery to a page in Microsoft Office OneNote 2003, and then you add a new page or a new subpage, the stationery is not applied to the new page.

This issue may occur if the page that the stationery is applied to is the first page of the section.

To resolve this problem, obtain Microsoft Office OneNote 2003 Service Pack 1.

To work around this issue, add a new page, and then move the new page so that it is the first page of the section. Then when you add a new page or a new subpage to your section, the stationery is applied correctly. After the pages are added to the section that you want, you can delete the first page of the section.

To do this, follow these steps:

1. In OneNote 2003, open the section that you want.
2. On the Tools menu, click Options.
3. In the Category list, click Other.
4. Click to select the Create new pages using the stationery of the last page in the section check box.
5. Click OK to close the Options dialog box.
6. On the File menu, click New.
7. In the New task pane, click New Page.
   
   A new untitled page is inserted.
8. Click the page tab of the new page, and then drag it sideways until a small triangle appears.
   
   This indicates the location of the page.
9. Press and hold the left mouse button to drag upward until the triangle indicator is above the first page in your section, and then release the mouse button.
10. To add a new page that contains the stationery that you applied, click New Page on the New task pane.
11. After you add the new page to the sectioni that you want, delete the first page.
    
    To do this, right-click the page tab of the first page of your section, and then click Delete.

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
This problem was first corrected in OneNote 2003 Service Pack 1.

To create a new page that is based on the stationery that you add to your section, you must have the Create new pages using the stationery of the last page in the section option must be selected.

Note To add a new subpage to your section that is based on your stationery, the Create new pages using the stationery of the last page in the section option does not have to be selected.

To select the Create new pages using the stationery of the last page in the section option, click Options on the Tools menu, and then click Other.
