SYMPTOMS

Network packets are lost when a User Datagram Protocol (UDP) stream is received over Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6). This problem occurs after a burst of packets arrives.

If the UDP fragment queue becomes filled with incomplete packet fragments, all new UDP fragments are discarded until the earlier fragments are discarded. Typically, it is better to favor the newer packets over the older incomplete packets in this situation.

Prerequisites

This update is supported only if all previously issued updates for this product have also been installed.

Restart requirement

After you install this update, you must perform a clean build of the whole platform. To clean the platform, click Clean on the Build menu. To build the platform, click Build Platform on the Build menu. You do not have to restart your computer after you apply this update.
