An NFS Client Cannot Mount a Share After You Upgrade a Basic Disk to a Dynamic Disk

SYMPTOMS

The following sequence of events results in problems when you run Microsoft Windows Services for UNIX on a Microsoft Windows 2000-based computer:
  1. You share a basic disk as a Network File System (NFS) share resource.
  2. The NFS client mounts the basic disk.
  3. You upgrade the basic disk to a dynamic disk.
  4. An NFS client tries to mount the share and is unsuccessful.
If the previous sequence of events occurs, you receive one of the following errors when you try to mount the folder in UNIX:
  • On AIX:
    A system call received a parameter that is not valid
  • On Solaris:
    Mounting NFSServerName:/Share on /mountpoint failed: Invalid argument

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, you must either restart your computer or restart the Server for NFS service.
