Article ID: 830762 - Last Review: February 20, 2007 - Revision: 2.3 Messages that are larger than global size limits can affect server performanceSYMPTOMSWhen you configure global limits on the size of messages that users can send or transfer, the information store still accepts and processes messages that are larger than this limit. A non-delivery report (NDR) is not generated until a message that is larger than the global limit reaches the transport. Sometimes, the performance of your server can be adversely affect when the information store processes messages that are larger than the global limit. Note When you configure individual limits (as opposed to global limits) on message size, the information store does not process messages that are larger than the individual limit. RESOLUTIONTo resolve this problem, obtain the August 2004 Exchange 2000 Server Post-Service Pack 3 update rollup.
