SYMPTOMS

When you try to configure the Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition 2004 to work with your Bell ExpressVu Satellite TV receiver, the Windows Media Center remote control and IR Control cables do not function correctly with the Bell ExpressVu Satellite TV set-top box.

CAUSE

This problem occurs because some models of the Bell ExpressVu Satellite TV receivers use UHF radio frequencies from the remote control to communicate with the set-top box, they do not use Infrared light, as does the Media Center remote control or IR Control cables.

WORKAROUND

To change channels, you must use the Bell ExpressVu remote control. Windows Media Center will not be able to control or to change channels on your set-top box.
