Random attributes are not migrated when you use the Active Directory Migration Tool version 2Article ID: 832216 - View products that this article applies to. On This PageSYMPTOMSWhen you use the Active Directory Migration Tool version 2 (ADMT v2) to migrate between two Microsoft Windows 2000 Server domains that are running in native mode, some random attributes may not be set in Active Directory. However, you receive no error messages in the ADMT log, in the security event log, or in the Active Directory event log. If Active Directory Diagnostic Event Logging is set to level 5 for Directory Access, you may receive the following event message for the affected object or user account: Event Type: Information
CAUSEThis problem may occur if an attribute that has an invalid distinguished name reference to an object that is outside the destination forest causes other attributes not to be set on the destination domain controller. RESOLUTIONHotfix informationA supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem.If the hotfix is available for download, there is a "Hotfix download available" section at the top of this Knowledge Base article.
