Article ID: 832521 - Last Review: December 5, 2007 - Revision: 1.10 Your RPC application may stop responding or slow down when you run the RPC application on a Windows Server 2003-based computer
SYMPTOMSWhen you work with remote procedure calls (RPC) in Microsoft Windows Server 2003, and Component Load Balancing is enabled, your application may stop responding or slow down. CAUSEThis problem occurs because of a memory leak on the server that is running the RPC-based application. When an RPC client sends an RPC request call to the RPC server, the container thread may not be freed up after use. The thread may continue to hold the memory. RESOLUTION A supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article.
