How to change your Original Xbox console date & time

This article describes how to adjust the date and the time on your Xbox console.

To adjust the time and the date on your Xbox console:

1. Start the Xbox console with no disc in the disc tray.
2. Press the directional pad (D-pad) up or down to select Main menu, and then press the A button.
   
   Note This step is only required if you are using the updated Live Now Dashboard.
3. On the Main menu screen, press the D-pad up or down to select Settings, and then press the A button.
4. On the Settings screen, press the D-pad up or down to select Clock, and then press the A button.
5. Press the D-pad up or down to select Time and Date, and then press the A button.
6. On the Clock screen, you can adjust the following settings:
   • Hour
   • Minute
   • AM/PM
   • Month
   • Day
   • Year
7. After you adjust the clock settings, press the A button.
8. Press the D-pad up or down to select Time Zone, and then press the A button.
9. On the Time Zone screen, press the D-pad up or down to select your time zone from the list, and then press the A button.
10. Press the D-pad up or down to select Daylight Saving Time, and then press the A button.
11. On the Daylight Savings screen, press the D-pad left or right to select YES or NO, and then press the A button.

Clock function

If you leave your Xbox console unplugged for more than two hours, the console loses the time setting and you must reset the clock.
