On This PageSYMPTOMSWhen you use the Remote Desktops Microsoft Management Console (MMC) snap-in on a Microsoft Windows XP-based computer, when a screen saver is activated in a remote session, the mouse pointer is not displayed in any other remote desktop connection that you have running in this Remote Desktops console.
WORKAROUNDTo work around this problem, turn off the screen saver on the remote host. Alternatively, if you move the focus to the session where the screen saver was activated, the mouse pointer in other remote sessions will function correctly. RESOLUTIONService pack informationTo resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Microsoft Windows XP.
