Article ID: 834090 - Last Review: January 2, 2004 - Revision: 1.2 When you play a dual-language VCD, both language audio vocal channels play at the same time in Windows Media Center 2004SYMPTOMSIf you play a dual-language Video CD (VCD) in
Microsoft Windows Media Center Edition 2004, Windows Media Center may play both
language audio vocal channels at the same time. Additionally, the vocal channels
may play through all the speakers that are attached to the Windows Media Center-based
computer. CAUSEThis behavior occurs because Windows Media Center cannot select
one audio vocal channel or one speaker choice to use when you play a VCD.
This behavior does not occur when you play a DVD because Windows Media Center uses different technology to play back multi-language DVDs. MORE INFORMATIONFor DVD playback, you can use the UI or the remote control to
change the sound settings. The following method works for a DVD. However, this method does not work for VCD
sound playback in a two-speaker setup when you use the remote control.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a bug in the Microsoft
products that are listed in the "Applies to" section of this
article.
