You can expect to resolve the problem by resetting a registry key. SYMPTOMSWhen you try to play an audio CD from the Windows Media Player, you may receive the following error message: Windows Media Player cannot find the specified file. Error code 0xC00D1197 If you try to drag a .cda file from Microsoft Windows Explorer to Windows Media Player, the CD does not play as you expect. CAUSEThird-party applications that can play audio CDs may change specific registry keys. These types of changes can prevent Windows Media Player from playing audio CDs. When you remove these third-party programs, the registry key is not restored to its original setting. RESOLUTIONWarning Serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly by using Registry Editor or by using another method.
