SYMPTOMS

When a Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server computer processes a message, you may receive the following access violation error message:

Access violation: code c0000005

Additionally, the following event ID messages may be logged in the application event log:

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, obtain the August 2004 Exchange 2000 Server Post-Service Pack 3 update rollup.
