Changes to your roaming user profile are lost on a wireless network in Windows XP

After you log on to a Microsoft Windows XP-based computer that is a member of a wireless network and you make changes that affect your roaming user profile, when you log off and then log on, changes that you made to your roaming user profile may not have been saved.

Note This problem does not occur if your computer is physically connected to the network.

This problem may occur when all the following conditions are true:

• Your computer is a member of a wireless network that uses the following protocols:
  • Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, Inc. (IEEE) 802.1X
  • Wi-Fi Protected Access (WPA)
• The server loses communication with your computer before your whole roaming user profile is saved on the server.
