Article ID: 837174 - Last Review: October 26, 2006 - Revision: 2.5 Your WMI query may function much slower than expected and multiple instances of the Llsmgr.exe process may appear on your Windows 2000-based computer
On This PageSYMPTOMSWhen you run a Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) query on a Microsoft Windows 2000-based computer, the query may function much slower than expected. When you view a list of processes that are running on your computer, one or more instances of the Llsmgr.exe process may exist. Sometimes, the Llsmgr.exe process may cause you to receive a "System is running low on virtual memory" error message and you may have to restart your computer. CAUSEThis problem occurs because the Llsmgr.exe process cannot register with DCOM within the required timeout period. Subsequently, a new Microsoft Component Object Model (COM) object may be created for the Llsmgr.exe process that creates additional instances of that process.
