Article ID: 837373 - Last Review: October 27, 2006 - Revision: 3.2 The Systems Management Server 2003 Advanced Client displays incorrect Last Run Status in the Run Advertised Programs toolSYMPTOMSAfter executing an advertised program and restarting an
Advanced Client, the Run Advertised Programs tool in Control Panel may
incorrectly display the Last Run Status setting for the
program, if the program has its After running property set to
SMS restarts computer or
Program restarts computer. Even
if the program ran successfully, Last Run Status can be
incorrectly stated or blank. CAUSEAfter a program runs, its execution history is stored in the
registry of each Advanced Client. This problem occurs because the Run
Advertised Programs tool reads Last Run Status from an
incorrect location in the registry. However, the correct advertisement status
is returned to the SMS database in the form of Advertisement status
messages. RESOLUTIONThis issue has been fixed in Microsoft Systems Management Server (SMS) 2003
Service Pack 1 (SP1). You can upgrade to SMS 2003 SP1 to resolve this problem. For additional information about how to obtain the latest Systems Management Server 2003 service pack, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base: 885643
