MORE INFORMATION

CD-ROM: Readiness Review Assessment question contains an incorrect number

The following question on the Readiness Review Assessment contains an invalid number that should be changed in the first sentence.

The first sentence of the question reads:
"Your company's Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 organization supports an Active Directory forest with over 100,00 users."

It should read:
"Your company's Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 organization supports an Active Directory forest with over 10,000 users."

Page xxxiv: Practice test does not include objective-by-objective review

On page xxxiv, the first sentence in the last paragraph on the page incorrectly states that there are objective review questions on the Readiness Review assessment.

Change:
"The CD-ROM includes a practice test made up of 300 sample questions and an objective-by-objective review with an additional 125 questions."

To:
"The CD-ROM includes a practice test made up of 300 sample questions."

Page 2-6: Correction To Creating A Service Account

On page 2-6, under "Creating a Service Account", add the following note:

"Note: It is not necessary to manually create a dedicated service account. A new Global group has been created called "Exchange Domain Servers." Exchange Server Setup adds its machine account to this group when you install the server and removes it when you uninstall the server. The "Exchange Domain Servers" group is added as a member to all necessary groups and Access Control Lists to allow Exchange services to read from and write all necessary information to Active Directory. You should not create a service account for Exchange 2003. All Exchange 2003 services run under the Local System account. Using any other account to start and run Exchange 2003 services can create problems that will not be supported by Microsoft."

Page 2-21 - Setup switch should by /noerrorlog

On page 2-21, the first bullet point reads:

"/NoErrorLogging – Disables any error logging during Setup."

It should read:

"/NoErrorLog – Disables any error logging during Setup."

Page 2-53: Correction to Question 2

On page 2-53, in question 2,

Change:
"The correct answers are c, d, g, and h."

To:
"The correct answers are c, d, and g."

Page 3-9: System Attendant service does not start

On page 3-9, after completing Exercise 1 the Exchange System Attendant does not start.

To resolve this error, you must configure the Exchange System Attendant service to start up under the LocalSystem (SYSTEM) account.

Page 3-39: Correction To Question 3

On page 3-39, the answer for question 3 is incorrect. Servers cannot be moved between administrative groups in either mixed mode or native mode.

Change:
"The correct answer is b."

To:
"The correct answer is a."

Page 4-7: Exchange Server 2003 Should Be Exchange Server 5.5

On page 4-7, in line 4,

Change:
"For example, if you need mailboxes to be created automatically in Exchange Server 2003 for users created using..."

To:
"For example, if you need mailboxes to be created automatically in Exchange Server 5.5 for users created using..."

Page 6-8: Correction To Server Clustering

On page 6-8, in the Important box, remove:

"This can be confusing because Windows Server 2003, Standard Edition, supports up to four-node clustering."

Clustering is available only on Windows Server 2003, Enterprise Edition, and Windows Server 2003, Datacenter Edition.

Page 11-24: Outlook Should Be Exchange Server In The First Two Paragraphs

On page 11-24, under Evaluating Email, the information provided in paragraphs one and two is incorrect. The e-mail evaluation against Accept and Deny list, RBL provider and anti-junk e-mail products/plug-ins is done at Exchange Server 2003 level and NOT by Outlook.

Replace the all instances of the word "Outlook" in paragraphs one and two with "Exchange Server"

Page 11-24: Explanation of SCL values incorrect

On page 11-24, the last sentence of the second paragraph reads:

"The SCL value is from 1 through 10—the lower the value, the higher the probability that the message is junk mail."

It should read:

"The SCL value is from 1 through 10—the higher the value, the higher the probability that the message is junk mail."
