Article ID: 837841 - Last Review: October 26, 2006 - Revision: 2.5 Access violation in Spoolsv.exe may occur when you print from a custom application on a Windows 2000-based computer
On This PageSYMPTOMSWhen you use a custom-built application to print custom
forms from a Microsoft Windows 2000-based computer, an access violation in
Spoolsv.exe may occur. CAUSEThis problem may occur if a "race" condition occurs between
a call to the DeviceCapabilities() function by the print spooler and the AddForm() function by the custom application. If the call to the AddForm () function occurs first, more forms may be generated than the
spooler can handle, resulting in an access violation. For additional information about how to use the AddForm() function and custom forms, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base: 282474
