You receive the "Unknown error occurred while retrieving country information" error message when you try to create an online account for Age of Mythology

When you try to create an online account on the Ensemble Studios Online multiplayer site from Microsoft Age of Mythology, you may experience either of the following symptoms:

• You cannot select the country.
• You receive the following error message:
  Unknown error occurred while retrieving country information.

This behavior occurs if your regional options are not set to English (United States).

To resolve this behavior, follow these steps.

Note Because there are several versions of Microsoft Windows, the following steps may be different on your computer. If they are, see your product documentation to complete these steps.

1. Click Start, and then click Control Panel.
2. Click Date, Time, Language and Regional Options.
3. Click Regional and Language Options.
4. On the Regional Options tab, under Standards and formats select English (United States).
5. Click OK.
6. Start Age of Mythology, and then create the account.
