(SP2) or later on a computer that has an operating system locale that does not
have a default SQL Server collation mapping, the Setup program may fail. You
may receive the following error message: Unable to
determine system default collation. If you enable verbose logging when you run the Setup program, an error message that is similar to the following may be logged in the setup log file: Starting custom action UseDefaultCollation Unable to determine system default collation. 2000 collation mappings. Additionally, these Windows locales are not supported
by SQL Server Desktop Engine and SQL Server Desktop Engine (Windows). The

Set up verbose loggingWhen you run the Setup.exe file that is included in the Setup program to install SQL Server Desktop Engine, you can enable verbose logging for troubleshooting purposes by using the L*v command-line switch.
